Evanston Workforce Center Teams With Chamber To Offer Gift Card Program
EVANSTON - The Evanston Workforce Center in conjunction with the Evanston Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a new gift card program scheduled to launch August 12, 2010. The program will be administered by Store Financial, an international payment systems processor based in Overland Park, Kansas. Store Financial offers comprehensive turn-key gift card programs to shopping centers around the world.
The Evanston Workforce Center and the Evanston Chamber of Commerce sponsored the production of the gift cards. Once in the community, these gift cards, pre-loaded with private dollars, will bring an exciting and rewarding technology that offers valuable benefits to both merchants and consumers. The gift card program operates in a closed system whereby 100 percent of all gift card sales will be spent within Evanston at participating businesses. The gift cards also make for quick and efficient transactions and easy end-of-day reconciliations for stores.
Joan Evans, Director of the Department of Workforce Services, is excited about the partnership with the Chamber and also the potential of the program. "The partnership between our Evanston Workforce Center and the Evanston Chamber of Commerce is a great opportunity to highlight how the business community can work together with the workforce system," Evans said. "The Department of Workforce Services is proud to be a sponsor of the card that will help to keep money in the Evanston community and keep the economy vital in that area of the state."
From August 9th through August 13th each participating merchant will be receiving one-on-one training from representatives of the Evanston Chamber of Commerce and of Store Financial. All retailers will be provided with reference training material and support.
