Workforce Services Launches Wyoming's Career Toolkit
CHEYENNE - The Department of Workforce Services has teamed up with Kuder Journey to offer job seekers an additional tool to assess their career path outlook…Wyoming's Career Toolkit. The online program can assist a job seeker in finding a more defined pathway to success by evaluating their career interests.
Wyoming's Career Toolkit simplifies education and career decisions for people accessing the Toolkit. In addition, the Toolkit provides job seekers with lifetime access to their career portfolio. This means once job seekers register, they will be able to access the Toolkit's features indefinitely.
Joan Evans, Director of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, said, "Wyoming's Career Toolkit is a comprehensive career management tool that offers assessments and other resources for Wyoming's job seekers. In fact, the tool can help all job seekers - from students through mature workers - explore new careers. The Department of Workforce Services is available to provide access to Wyoming's Career Toolkit at no cost for job seekers."
Wyoming's Career Toolkit offers students the following services:
- Create a high school plan of study
- Review options after high school
- Learn about post-secondary schools
- Find financial aid to pay for education
- Explore and save career information.
- Create an e-Portfolio to share with others
For adults and mature workers, the Toolkit can assist with:
- Building and re-creating resumes
- Writing cover letters
- Collecting personal references
- Practicing for a job interview
- Learning about careers that utilize transferable skills
- Finding jobs
- Creating an e-Portfolio with samples of work to share with others.
Mike Griffin, Youth Coordinator for the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, said, "We are excited about all of the resources that will be available to job seekers, those considering vocational transitions, and youth wanting to develop a career pathway, in planning for these next steps," Griffin said. "This is an additional free service for anyone who is being served by any Wyoming Workforce Centers and is registered in Wyoming at Work and we very excited and glad we are able to offer this new service to our clients."
