Cheyenne Workforce Center offers Career Readiness Certificate Workshop
CHEYENNE--The Department of Workforce Services' Cheyenne Workforce Center has teamed up with ACT, Inc. to offer businesses across the city a free Career Readiness Certificate Workshop.
Joan Evans, Director of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, said, "These workshops will provide an opportunity for employers and community partners to learn more about the Career Readiness initiative and the WorkKeys Assessment that is part of that Initiative. The WorkKeys Assessment is known for assessing an employees foundational skills for work readiness and were very excited for employers in Wyoming and our partners to learn more about the benefits of hiring folks who are ready for employment."
The Cheyenne presentation is set for February 5th at the Cheyenne Workforce Center at 1510 E. Pershing Blvd. from 7:30 a.m-9:00 a.m. The presentation will feature special guest, Tom Kilijanek, Senior Vice President with ACT. A continental breakfast will be served.
Rob Black, Department of Workforce Services Community Projects/Grant Manager, encourages local businesses to take advantage of the complimentary workshops. "These workshops are great opportunities for Wyoming businesses to not only learn more about the WorkKeys program, but to help businesses put the program to work for them," Black said. "Business owners can learn how they can save on time and effort, and maybe even some money, when recruiting and hiring workers."
