Dads Making a Difference Program Sets Deadline for Spring Semester Applications

ROCK SPRINGS – Dads Making a Difference coordinator, Joyce Corcoran, has set Friday, November 6, 2009 as the deadline for applying to be accepted as a welding student at Western Wyoming Community College for the Spring semester. Applications are available at the Learning Center at WWCC or will be mailed to interested persons by calling the Learning Center, 382-1829 or by calling Joyce Corcoran at 362-5301.

Dads Making a Difference is a Wyoming Workforce Services supported program for men who are fathers, over age 18, are drug free, and are committed to completing the semester long welding program.  It is hoped the applicant will be certified in structural welding by the end of the semester and perhaps advance to pipe welding.  Students are required to dedicate at least twenty hours a week to the program. Tuition and lab fees, necessary equipment and child care, if needed, are provided.

Interviews of applicants will be held on November 16 and 18 at WWCC and the chosen applicants will begin the application process and registration immediately.  The Interview and Screening Committee will be looking for students whose main interest is welding and are committed to completing the program.  The Spring semester begins on January 20, 2010 and ends May 13, 2010.
