Laramie County Sheriff's Department hosts Law Enforcement Job Fair
CHEYENNE - The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services Cheyenne Workforce Center has partnered with the Laramie County Sheriff's Department to host a Law Enforcement Job Fair. The event will take place on Friday, October 16, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Those interested in law enforcement jobs are encouraged to attend.
The event will be an opportunity for job seekers to meet with Law Enforcement Career Advisors to discuss potential career paths that are available in the law enforcement/corrections field, ask questions and even pick up the necessary application to apply.
Deputy Gerald Luce in charge of Personnel/Training of the Laramie County Sheriff's Department commented on the event. "We're looking forward to having the opportunity to visit with a number of people that would be interested in a law enforcement career," Deputy Luce said. "It's a varied career that requires a special type of person and many times whether we are taking veterans or other individuals interested in this career field, here is a good opportunity for them to come in, talk and to get questions answered about what this career field is about. What law enforcement can offer them in professional choices as they go along in their search for a career also," he added.
Applications will be available for job seekers who are interested. "The process to become a law enforcement officer is not an overnight process. It's detailed and it is one that is somewhat complex in the fact that we not only have to meet department requirements, but the requirement of the State of Wyoming," Luce added.
